1. Worth it

   Adding the new features will an older motor made it like new again. The spot lock is more responsive and accurate. Took me about 30 minutes to install taking my time to make sure it was all correct. Nice kit

   I just ordered the upgrade kit for my Terrova to the advanced GPS. The kit was exactly what it was advertised to be. The You Tube video that paired with it made the switch super easy. Two days after install trolling on Lake Erie was a breeze. Will order my next needs from Trollingmotorparts. Shipping was fast and on point as well.

   I had kicked around the idea of replacing my 2008 Terrova with an Ultrex or maybe another Terrova for quite some time now. I decided on the Advanced GPS upgrade kit from TMP.com and I am glad I did. This kit replaces everything involved with the controls and basically only uses the steer motor and the prop motor. It does use the original voltage LED's. I opted for the bigger remote and which I really like but I think most if not all of the features are available on the phone App. Ino thing I did not like about the remote is that the screen is not lit. I went crappie fishing before daylight last weekend and even with the remote in light background mode i could not see the display. Minn Kota should light the screen especially since it uses AA batteries and are cheap and easy to replace.
   
   The install was easy and the YouTube video was very informative and straight forward. The Advanced GPS accuracy is amazing and it is like I have the newest version of the Terrova. I had a gift card from Amazon so I ordered the heading sensor from Amazon but I haven't gotten it paired up with the trolling motor yet so I can't comment on how it preforms with the new heading sensor.
   
   I also ordered two new side plates for $6 each and now it looks and preforms like a new one for $1200 less.

   Bought the end of life (not advanced GPS) Minnkota a couple years ago - said no, i won't ever get a Humminbird and I'll never want to control the trolling motor from it.
   
   Well, I ended up getting a Humminbird and to be able to upgrade the trolling motor to a current generation - holy smokes it's awesome and a great deal. Worked perfect - drop dead simple to install. Only think I'm trying to figure out is if I can pair my older remote to it - which at this point I haven't been able to. Even still, works perfect.

   This upgrade option allowed me to get drift mode for a fraction of the cost of a new trolling motor. Only thing I wish I had known a head of time is that I also needed a 5 ft. ethernet cable to complete the install. My motor's head unit had an integrated 5 ft. ethernet cable and the replacement only has a ~6 in. one. If I would have known I would have bought one at the same time. Or if the kit had an option to add one, I would have at least known to look.

   I have a 2023 Minn Kota Terrova 12V BT trolling motor and I found this kit on line. After checking with TMP they verified the kit would work on my motor. I sent a request to Minn Kota technical support and they told me that this kit wouldn't work as my motor was not backward compatible.
   FALSE information from them. I installed the kit in a few minutes and gained all the features that come with a new 2024 motor from them.
   Very happy with my purchase. shipping was quick and free

   I installed this kit on my 2023 Terrova 12V BT I Pilot trolling motor to gain the features this kit provides. Installation was quick and easy. Works perfectly and is about 25% of what then new motor from Minn Kota costs.
   I can't express how satisfied I am with this upgrade, shipping was free and quick

    I purchased this kit to upgrade my 2007 Terrova. After following the instruction video closely everything went together perfectly! I just took my boat out yesterday and tested the new Advanced GPS upgrade and everything worked great!!! Thank you TMP for working with me the way you did! Much respect!
    
    If you'd like to turn your older Minn Kota into the brand new 2024 Advanced GPS model this is a great option in my opinion!!! Just do it!!!
