I had been noticing my trolling motor didn't seem to be responding to the foot pedal movement as it had been. A subsequent examination showed that one of the cables had begun to fray. These cables are a direct replacement, and the steering is back to normal.

We haven’t installed them yet. We were able to repair the end of the cable and reinstall it. So far, so good. We just figured out that the tension screw can’t be over-tightened.
