The attach screw head is not strong and stripped out when I tried to tighten. I had to use my own hardware

So my lift assist spring broke and i was about to purchase a new trolling motor until i realized i don’t have the money for that ! ? So then i figured i can spend way less and fix a couple components, so that’s what i did.
