    Since I just bought this new-to-me boat, I am new to a remote-only operated trolling motor and I wanted better control from my Riptide ST Terrova than just the remote. This foot pedal is not in production any longer, but somehow Trolling Motor Parts had it. After looking extensively online for this pedal, I finally found it on trollingmotorparts.com. I'm not sure how they had it when no one else did, but this pedal is perfect! It took a minute to get used to but it is great. I love the option of whole foot operation or the buttons at the bottom of the pedal (which I prefer). The only thing is that it does not have spot lock on the pedal. I still have to use the remote for that, but that is a minor issue. I love having this plug and play addition. Also, what happens if the remote stops working, gets stepped on, or somehow falls overboard? Without the pedal, you have no way of operating the trolling motor.

    I couldn't stand having the remote as the sole means of operating the trolling motor. This foot pedal for my year model tm (Riptide Terrova made in 2015) was like a unicorn as it is so hard to find due to it being out of production. Trolling Motor Parts somehow had it and it works great! Only reason for the 4 star rating is that there is no Spot-Lock on the foot pedal. I still have to use the remote for Spot-Lock but that is minor. Otherwise I would have given it a 5 star rating. I now have better control of the trolling motor and don't have to stop fishing to fumble with a remote that I am not accustomed to. I also love the option of using the whole foot to adjust the direction or using the buttons at the bottom of the pedal, which I prefer.
    The only other option would be to upgrade the electronics on the tm itself, which is an $1100 cost.

    Needed foot pedal for older Minn kota. Had a remote but too hard to fish and steer. Only place I could find pedal for Riptide ST. Arrived quickly and in very good shape. Works like a charm.
