    Existing shaft cannot be removed by untwisting and required a few tools. Hacksaw blade to make multiple parallel cuts in the threaded portion of the shaft. Flat screw driver to remove cut sections of shaft from motor housing. Angle pick to clean out threads. Wiring needs to be extended (soldering the two #8 wires and butt splices for two #18 wires. Do NOT drill the handle connection hole until the shaft is thread into motor head!! Five foot shaft allowed me mount an inexpensive Minn Kota Endura on the bow.
