I had a 36” shaft but needed the 42” shaft. I would have had to get a 50 or 55lb trolling motor to get that length shaft and they aren’t cheap. I was able to replace the shaft on my 36lb and it worked perfectly. I didn’t even have to add any length to the wires. Fast and cheap
