I fish in below freezing temps on a power plant lake in the winter. The previous cable jacket was made from a stiffer plastic. This newer version is made from a softer rubber like material and has held up to the cold weather so far. The older material was stiff and would crack and also break the coil cord cover (which I also replaced) when raising and lowering the motor. Whereas the new one is more flexible in the below freezing temps. So far so good.
